The responsibility for approval of the acquisition and use of toxic chemical agents rests with the laboratory supervisor. Certain materials including radioactive materials, recombinant DNA and certain biohazards require prior internal (campus) or external approval at various levels. If there are questions concerning the need for approvals, the Center for Environmental Health and Safety should be consulted.
