SIUC Saluki Volunteer Corps 14th Annual "Day of Service"

Environmental volunteer otpions include: litter cleanup, planting flowers and trail work at Touch of Nature. Lunch provided for volunteers!

Heartland Bioneers Conference
Volunteers are needed to assist with the 2008 Heartland Bioneers Conference (a positive environmental conference with a focus on practical environmental solutions and innovative social strategies). Shawnee National Forest needs volunteers to assist with trail maintenance. Trail work days are scheduled for the following Saturdays: Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 25, Nov. 22 (all 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).

Shawnee Trash Bash
Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 Noon to 4:30 p.m.
Volunteers will clean up litter in the beautiful Shawnee National Forest. This is a joint project of the Sierra Club, Shawnee National Forest and Beautify Southern Illinois. Meal provided to volunteers. BSISA will provide transportation or organize car pools for SIUC students to travel to this event near Harrisburg, Illinois (will leave Carbondale at 10:30 a.m. and return approx. 6:30 p.m.).
