STORAGE OF FOOD AND DRINK
Engineering and Work Practice Controls concerning
the storage of food and drink shall be used to eliminate or minimize
employee exposure. In general, human food and drink storage are
prohibited in clinical and laboratory work areas, and in animal
facilities.
- Food and drink shall not be stored in any room where blood or other
potentially infectious materials are present.
- Food and drink shall not be kept in refrigerators or freezers where
blood or other potentially infectious materials are present.
- Food and drink shall not be kept in refrigerators or freezers where
vaccines or medications are stored.
- Food and drink shall not be kept on shelves, cabinets, or counter
tops where blood or other potentially infectious materials are present.
