Following an inspection by the Environmental Protection Agency, a notice of violation was issued to SIU on August 23, 2007. As part of our response to EPA, laboratories will be required to bring their chemical and biologic storage areas into compliance. Guidelines for compliance are listed in the powerpoint presentation entitled “Hazardous Waste Compliance”; two necessary forms, the satellite waste accumulation area checklist and the laboratory emergency response plan, are also available here.
