This model is available for Southern
Illinois University Carbondale campus departments as an aid to complying
with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirement
of maintaining a work place specific written Hazard Communication Program.
“Hazard Communication Standard” (29 CFR 1910.1200) regulations apply to
worksites were hazardous chemicals are used in a non-laboratory
environment (i.e., a building service worker using a drain clog remover).
For those employees working in laboratories, the “Laboratory Standard” (29
CFR 1910.1450) and the Chemical Hygiene Plan apply.
